Frances McReynolds Jones

Frances McReynolds Jones, age 94, of the Sonoraville Community died at 11:58 PM, Wednesday, December 31 at her residence. She was born, November 1, 1920 in Gordon County, a daughter of the late Guy Randolph McReynolds and Nell Mae Gaines McReynolds. Also, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Jones on May 12, 1994; two brothers, William and Dan McReynolds and a sister, Kathryn Acree. She was a lifetime member of Bethlehem Baptist Church. During her working career, she had worked for several local manufacturing companies: C.M. Jones, Dixie Belle, Regent, and Lacey-Champion. Also, she had worked in the family business, J & J Supermarket of Fairmount and last, the local Liz Claiborne Store. Frances is survived by three sons, Larry Jones and his wife Cheryl, Kenneth Jones, and Julian Jones and his wife Jackie all of Gordon County; one brother, David McReynolds of Rome; one sister, Sarah Acree of Hiawassee; 8 grandchildren and their spouses, Jada and Al Bocchicchio, Jana and Jeff Knight, Julie and Jimmy Alexander, Ken and Kristy Jones, Gabe Jones, Corey and Phillip Young, Kathryn Jones and Chad Harkins; 14 great grandchildren; and, three special caregivers, Rhonda Young, Dawn Jefferies, and Kathy Romaine. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Saturday, January 3 at the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with the Reverends Eddie Brannon and Jason Parker officiating. Bert Jeffords will have charge of music, and burial will be in Bethlehem Baptist Church cemetery. Active pallbearers are sons, grandsons, and sons in laws: Larry, Kenneth, and Julian Jones, Ken and Gabe Jones, Al Bocchicchio, Jeff Knight, Jimmy Alexander, Phillip Young, and Chad Harkins. Honorary pallbearers are Johnny and Brent Acree, Steve Jones, Donald and Adam McReynolds. They are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:45 AM Saturday. The Jones and McReynolds family will receive friends from 4:00 until 8:00 PM Friday, January 2, at the funeral home.
