Mrs. Frances Silks Butler, age 89, of Cash Road. Died Thursday August 14th in Gordon Health Care.
Mrs. Butler was born in Gordon County September 4, 1918. Son of the late William Belton “W.B.” and Cora Estelle Dellinger Silks. She was a homemaker and member of the Sonoraville Baptist Church. Frances was preceded in death by her husband, James Washington “J.W.” Butler ,a son; William Harry Butler as well as a sister; Wyolene Silks Padgett.
Survivors include her daughter; Anne B. Collins and her husband Ted. Daughter In Law; Jane B. Butler all of the Sonoraville Community. Six grandchildren; Kim Richardson, Jennifer Smith, Julie Evans, J. Collins, William Butler, and Cher Worley. Eleven great-grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday August 16th at 11AM in the Sonoraville Baptist Church. With Rev. Steve Skates officiating. Burial will follow in Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers serving include; William Butler, Ben Worley, Cody Smith, Noah Smith, John Richardson, J. Collins, and Alex Evans. Honorary Escorts will include members of the Willing Workers Sunday School Class.
The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6 until 8PM. Mrs. Butler will be taken to the church Saturday morning at 9:30 to lie in state from 10AM until the funeral hour.
