Florine M. Colston

Florine M. Colston, age 98 of Gordon County, passed away on Thursday, January 14, 2016 at Gordon Hospital. Florine was born on April 8, 1917 in Gordon County to the late Alfred Lenox Mashburn and Beaulah Millsap Mashburn. She was a member of the South Calhoun Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Thomas “Tommy” Colston; brother, Frank Mashburn; and three sisters, Betty Mashburn, Bonnie Mashburn; and Ruby Brown. She is survived by her two daughters, Charlie Reeves and her husband Randy of Calhoun, and Dorothy Moss and her husband Anthony of Gordon County; two grandchildren, Shannon Whitlock and her husband Joey, and Tony Moss, Jr. and his wife Debbie; five great-grandchildren, Morgan Whitlock Bomar, Erin Whitlock, Mason Whitlock, Hunter Moss and Charley Green; and one great-great-grandson, Porter Bomar. Funeral Services will be conducted on Saturday, January 16th at 3:00 PM from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with the Reverend Jim Storm officiating. Interment will follow in East View Cemetery in Adairsville. The family will receive friends on Saturday prior to the funeral from 1 PM until the funeral hour at 3 PM at Thomas Funeral Home.
