FLORENE TOMLINSON TAYLOR, age 77, a resident of Irving since 1969, died Thursday, March 14, 2013 at home. Born February 28, 1936 in Gordon County, Georgia, she was the daughter of Winford Tomlinson and Irene Chastian Tomlinson. On August 20, 1960, Florene married Earl Dean Taylor in Gordon County, Georgia. She was a member of North Irving Baptist Church. Preceded in death by her husband in 2002; her daughter, Gay Renee Taylor; sister, Jolene Treadaway; brothers, Jack Tomlinson, Junior Tomlinson and Dan Tomlinson, and a grandson, Shaun Toombs, survivors include her son, Greg Taylor and wife Terri of Irving; daughter, Tonya D. Taylor and husband Daniel of Grand Prairie; grandchildren, Xavier Clubb, Taylor Clubb, Gahlen Dinkle, Trae Dinkle, Britni Taylor, and Jason Taylor; great grandchildren, Haley Toombs and Shelbi Bessent; sister, Glenda Poole of Armuchee, Georgia; and brothers, Max Tomlinson and Lamar Tomlinson, both of Calhoun, Georgia. A visitation will be held in Irving from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., Sunday, March 17 at Donnelly’s Colonial Funeral Home, 606 West Airport Freeway. Service is 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 20 at Thomas Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Clyde Hampton officiating, 535 Red Bud Road, N.E. in Calhoun, Georgia 30701. Telephone: 706-629-2832.
