Fletcher Pearl Acree, age 96 of Calhoun and formerly of Luthersville, passed away on Friday, September 19, 2014 at Gordon Health Care.
Fletcher was born on March 27, 1918, daughter of the late Henry Fletcher Pitchford and Mary Elizabeth Giles Pitchford. She was a member of the Wieuca Road Baptist Church and was retired from Delta AirLines. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Kontz Acree.
She is survived by three sisters, Alma Jones of Vermont, Zoldean Roy of Vermont, and Mary F. Pullium of Georgia; several grandchildren survive, including grandson, Kevin Cunningham; a number of nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral Services will be conducted on Sunday, September 21st at 4:00pm from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with the Reverend Ronnie Howard and special minister Rev. Harold Owens officiating. Burial will take place on Monday, September 22nd at 11:00am at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens (5755 Mallory Road, College Park, GA 30349.)
The family will receive friends on Sunday prior to the funeral from 1:00pm – 4:00pm at Thomas Funeral Home.
