Mrs. Faye Brown Overton, age 88 of Calhoun, died Sunday December 14th. following several months of declining health.
Mrs. Overton was born in Gordon County on May 21, 1920 daughter of the late J.J. and Maggie Robbins Brown and had been a lifelong resident. She was a homemaker and a member of the Calhoun First Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband and father of her children; Paul Davis, a son; Harold Davis, a daughter ; Rita Lowe, a granddaughter; Christy Evans, a sister; Melba Poston, and two brothers; Carl “Buddy” Brown, and Otis Brown.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law; Paula and Huston Evans of Calhoun, one brother; J.M. Brown of Resaca, two sisters; Ila Moss and her husband James of Calhoun, and Emily Whaley and her husband Tom of Dalton , Grandchildren; Darla Bardajky, Denine Ellis, Ty Evans and Seth Evans.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday Dec. 16th. from the Chapel of the Thomas Funeral Home with Dr. Bert Vaughn and Ty Evans officiating. Interment will follow in the Gordon Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers serving include Reed Davis, Jerry and Tim Edwards, Dale Brown, Clifton Smith and Bobby Reeves and they are asked to meet at the funeral home at 1:45 P.M. Tuesday.
Tonya Turner will have charge of the music.
The family will receive friends at the Thomas Funeral Home from 12:00 noon Tuesday until the funeral hour.
