Farris Larhue Roberts DeFoor, age 85 of Calhoun passed away on Friday, October 31st in Gordon Hospital.
Farris was born on November 21, 1928 in Gordon County, daughter of the late George Shorter Roberts and Jennie Mae Campbell Roberts. Also, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alton “Peedro” DeFoor; a brother, George Benson Roberts; two sisters, Ada Joanne Roberts and Glenda Yvonne Bodenhammer; and a nephew, Tony Roberts. She was a lifetime resident of Gordon County, loved to travel, and was a member of the Nellie Peters United Methodist Church.
Farris is survived by one brother, Malcom Autry Roberts and his wife Betty; one sister, Melba Loreta Roberts Bryant; step-daughter, Amy Burns and her husband Patrick of Dawsonville, GA; one sister in law, Doris Baker Roberts; step-grandchildren, Conner and Ethan Burns of Dawsonville, GA; nieces and nephews, Farris Temissa Darnell, Cindy Anna Marie Burton, Pam White, Kevin Allen, Yolanda Roberts, Spring Bodenhammer, Doug Bodenhammer, Jennie Jones, Casey Roberts, and Brian Roberts; and several great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Monday, November 3rd at the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with the Reverends Jimmy Faith and Dennis Jarvis officiating. Gina Daniel will have charge of music. Burial will be in Fain Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:00 until 8:00 PM, Sunday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers are Brandon Allen, Shawn Allen, Justin White, Josh White, Thad Burton, and Chad Faulkenberry. They are asked to meet at the funeral home at 1:45 PM Monday.
In addition to flowers the family requests that donations be made to Nellie Peters United Methodist Church.
