Evelynne Loraine Young

Saturday, December 12, 2009 Evelynne Loraine Young went to rest in the arms of her loving father in glorious Heaven on the evening of December 12, 2009. She was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee, December 30, 1940. Evelynne was educated in the Chattanooga area schools. She was married to Harry H. Young of Fairmount, Ga. in February of 1960. Evelynne always had a sweet smile on her pretty face and never met a stranger. Everyone who knew her loved her dearly. Her quiet, gracefulness and kind disposition touched everyone. She was a spiritual mentor to many of the women in her church, Sonoraville Baptist Church. Her deep devoted love for the Lord was evident in all that she did. Evelynne was preceded in death by two dear infant grandsons, Steven Young and Dawson Smith She is survived by her husband; Harry Young, sons; Michael and Tim Young and daughter; Janet Young Smith. She had seven grandchildren; Taylor Young, Ashley Young, Andy Young, Steven Young, Lindsey Smith, Jordan Smith, and Dawson Smith. Brothers; David Grimes and Henry Grimes and sister; Sue Houser all of Chattanooga also survive. Her family and friends loved her with all their hearts and will miss her dearly. Funeral services will be conducted Monday December 14th at 11:30am from the Sonoraville Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Skates officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Ronnie Hammontree, Carla Grisham, and Michael Johnson will arrange music. Pallbearers include; Louie McEntyre, Robert Wager, Dave West, Mike Worley, Mike Johnson, Jimmy Fox, Zack Baker, and Keith Sitton. Members of the Calhoun City Fire Department will serve as Honorary Escorts. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 5 until 8pm and on Monday until 10:30am at which time Mrs. Young will be taken to the church to lie in state from 11am until the funeral hour.
