Mrs. Eva Louise Tate Richardson passed away at her residence on January 31, 2012 following years of declining health. Mrs. Richardson was preceded in death by her husband U. S. Army Sergeant William Thomas Richardson and 2 sisters Mrs. Ira Mae Stephens and Mrs. Martha Belle Stone , 1 brother Mr. James Benjamin Tate and 1 sister-in-law Mrs. Winnie Watkins and 4 brothers-in-law ‘Bo’ Richardson, Charlie Richardson, Henry Duke Richardson, and James Richardson.. Mrs. Richardson was the daughter of the late Henry Grady Tate and the late Lily Ada Shope Tate. Mrs. Richardson was the Daughter In-Law of Mr. F.J. Richardson and Mrs. Mattie Love Richardson, and Mrs. Beatrice Richardson. Mrs. Richardson is survived by two sons Lawrence Edwin Richardson of Fairmount and Lynn Thomas Richardson of Calhoun, and a daughter Mrs. Linda Richardson Terrill, son-in law Harry Terrill of Harriman TN, and a granddaughter Leah Kathryn Terrill of Nashville, TN. She is survived by 2 sisters Betty Godfrey, brother-in-law James Godfrey, Helen Anne Davenport, brother-in-law Robert Davenport. 3 brothers Rev. Lawrence Tate, sister-in-law Willa Mae Tate, Mr. Richard Vinson Tate, sister-in-law Madge Tate, and Mr. Doyle Tate. Sisters –in-law Mrs. Syble Swafford, Mrs. Susie Gray, Mrs. Frances Ball, Ms. Ruby Richardson, Mrs. Helen Richardson, Mrs. Margaret Cartwright, Ms. Anne Moore, and many nieces, a brother in law Robert Watkins, nephews and cousins. Mrs. Richardson was a member of Belmont Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School for 36 years until her declining health interfered with her teaching. Mrs. Richardson was an active Den Mother in the Boy Scouts of America for 10 years and Leader in the Girl Scouts of America for 8 years. She had been a volunteer with many Community Service groups throughout her life. She had been an award winning seamstress and had been employed by Charter Carpets of Dalton, GA where she was the Filing Clerk from 1968 – 1975. Mrs. Richardson will be at Thomas Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be her brother- in- law Bill Cartwright, and her nephews Keith Richardson, Jimmy Gray, Michael Tate, Ray Stone, Regan Stone, Ronald Stephens, Austin Stephens, Tate Godfrey, and Tim Norman. Honorary pallbearers will be her nieces. Funeral Services will be conducted on Thursday, February 2nd at 2:00p.m. from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Dr. John Allen officiating. Mrs. Richardson will be laid to rest beside her husband at East View Cemetery in Adairsville, GA. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 1st from 5:00-8:00p.m. at the funeral home.
