Mr. Eugene Langley, age 76, of Calhoun. Died Friday morning April 17th at 5:55am in the Redmond Regional Hospital following several months of declining health.
Eugene was born in Floyd County April 15, 1933. Son of the late Frank C. and Florence Ellis Langley. He was employed in the carpet industry prior to his retirement and was a member of the Church of God of Prophesy of Plainville.
His wife, Eunice Green Langley, survives him. One Son, Lanny Shaw. Two daughters, Charlene Black and Darlene Strickland. Two brothers, Bill Langley and Freeman “Hop” Langley. Seven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren as well as a number of nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday April 19th at 2pm from the chapel of Thomas Funeral Home. With Rev. Marvin Jackson and Rev. Ed Flowers officiating. Burial will follow in Scott Cemetery. Ronnie Langley will provide music.
Pallbearers serving include, Johnny Jacks, Wymon Autry, Gregg Webb, Tommy Fowler, Virgil Story and Noel Black. Honorary escorts will include, Jackie Bowman, Christopher Langley, Aaron Flowers, Jeremiah Studard, and Lanny Shaw. These men are asked to meet at the funeral home Sunday at 1:30.
The family will receive friends Saturday evening 5pm until 8pm.
