Mrs. Etta Maude Rich age 82 of 163 Liberty Lane S.W., Calhoun, died Friday July 25th. at her residence following several months of declining health.
Mrs. Rich was born in Gordon County on Dec. 29th. 1925 daughter of the late Lester Truman and Lola Goss Hammontree. She was a homemaker and was retired from A&P Packing, Ingles, Lovinggood Meat Packing and Gourmet Day. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Ira “Little Boy” Rich on Sept 18, 1985, by a sister Wilene Huey and a brother Roy Hammontree.
Survivors include two sons; Ira “Lyman” Rich of Calhoun and Lester “Tate” Rich also of Calhoun, two daughters; Lola Lee Jackson and Judy Ann Schendel both of Calhoun. Two brothers; Hoyt Hammontree of Dalton and Parham Hammontree of Calhoun. 11 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Sunday July 27th. from the Chapel of the Thomas Funeral Home with Rev. Rick Langston and Rev. Larry Hogan officiating. Interment will follow in the Oostanaula Baptist Church Cemetery.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers and include Dadiv and Danny Quiroz, Johathan , Tommy and Ira Rich, Brent and Doug Smith and they are asked to meet at the Funeral hme at 1:30 P.M. Sunday.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home after 5:00 P.M. Saturday July 26th.
