Estelle Roberts died Friday July 10th.
Estelle was born in Calhoun on July 30th, the youngest of ten children born to William and Elizabeth Silvers. She was preceded in death by her brothers Ira, Roy, Lincoln, Paul, Gordon, and Melvin (Slim) Silvers and three sisters, Lola Silvers, Lela Fortner, and Della Scoggins. Her daughter Debbie Roberts Gent and two grandbabies, Jennifer and Denise Gent also preceded Estelle in death. She was married to Clarence (Buddy) Roberts who preceded her in death in Nov. 1974.
Her son, Larry and his wife Marie of Calhoun survive Estelle. A granddaughter Brandi also survives, as well as a special friend Frances McDaniel.
She spent 25 years as an army wife and was fortunate to live abroad for several years. She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church and a longtime employee of Georgia Textile. She loved her church, her flowers, her family and to her family she was the best cook in Gordon County.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
