Mr.Preston Ephard Dupree, age 86, of Calhoun, passed away Wednesday morning February 13th at his residence.
Mr. Dupree was born in Marietta, Georgia on November 28, 1926 , son of the late Alvie and Effie Roberson Dupree. Mr. Dupree was a charter member of the Tabernacle of Praise. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving during WWII. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Mae Stanley Dupree who passed away last year, his son, Jack Dupree, a son in law, Louie Bingiel, one great grandson, Isaiah Nance and two great- great grandchildren, Josh Tinsley,Jr. and Nikia Tinsley, five brothers, Paul, Silas, Alfred,Emmett and Ernest Dupree, and two sisters; Mae Floyd and Mattie Taft .
Survivors include a sister, Helen Weaver,his two daughters, Brenda Bingiel and Sandra Hale and her husband Alvin, one son, Joel Dupree and his wife Cindy all of Calhoun, one daughter in law, Jennifer Dupree of Calhoun, ten grandchildren, Tammy Burchett, Allison Holbrook and her husband Derek, Keisha Causby and her husband Shane, Kerry Nance and her husband Mike, Keenya Rogers, Tina Culberson and her husband Scott, Michael Bingiel and his wife Missy, Heather Dupree, Tamra Dupree, Kayla Kent, Brandy Pass and her husband Cody, fourteen great-grandchildren, Josh Tinsley, Audria Burchett, Chase Holbrook, Dawson Holbrook, Hanna Causby, Austin Causby, Zeke Nance, Isaac Nance, Kiera Hale, Dakota Culberson and his wife Lace, Tekoa Culberson, Andrew Bingiel and his wife Brittany, Chris Bingiel and Noah Bingiel. Three great-great grandchild, Preston Jack Tinsley, Dayton Bingiel and Kayla Tinsley also survives.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday February 17th at 11A.M. from the Tabernacle of Praise with Pastor Roy Smith and Rev. Alvin Hale officiating. Music will be arranged by Tina Culberson, Missy Bingiel and Dakota Culberson. The grandchildren will also sing a special selection. Burial will follow in Fain Cemetery with military rites afforded by the Dalton American Legion. Pallbearers serving include, Josh Tinsley, Andrew Bingiel, Dakota Culberson, Austin Causby, Chris Bingiel, Noah Bingiel, Chase Holbrook, Dawson Holbrook, Zeke Nance, and Isaac Nance. The Men of the Tabernacle of Praise will serve as honorary escorts.
The family will receive friends Saturday February 16 from 5 until 9pm at the Tabernacle of Praise @ 301 Chatsworth Hwy. 225, Calhoun, Georgia, 30701 and on Sunday from 10am until the funeral hour.
