Ella Ree Morrison

Sunday, May 06, 2007 Mrs. Ella Ree Morrison, age 71 of 561 Fairview Rd. N.W., Calhoun died Saturday May 5th. in the Gordon Hospital following a brief illness. Mrs. Morrison was born in Gordon County on Dec. 22, 1935 daughter of the late Albert Newton and Orphia Owens Jones and had spent her entire life here. She was a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church at Resaca, was a homemaker and in adition to her parents was preceded in death by a son; Thomas Allen Morrison , a brother; Jay Jones and sisters; Floy Mae Wright and Daisy Jones. Survivors include her husband Charles R. “Dickie” Morrison of Calhoun, one son; Charles Todd Morrison of LaFayette, Ga., two daughters; Cathy Walraven and her husband Keith, and Nancy Morrison and future son-in-law: Tom Grizzard both of Atlanta, one brother; Sammy Owen Jones and his wife Betty of Newnan, Ga., three sisters; Aileen Greeson and her husband Mitchell of Smyrna, Ga., Mina Lusk and her husband Paul of Calhoun, and Avanelle Brock of Resaca. Three grandchildren; Sharlyn Morrison of LaFayette and Heath and Kaitlyn Walraven of Calhoun. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday May 8th. from the Mt.Zion Baptist Church in Resaca with Rev. Randall E. Trammell and Rev. Jether Cochran officiating. Interment will follow in the Chandler Cemetery in Calhoun. Nephews will serve as pallbearers and include; Joey Lusk, Jerry Greeson, Michael and Terry Wright, Harry Brock and Mitchell Greeson Jr. and they are asked to meet at the funeral home at 12:30 P.M. Tuesday. Honorary pallbearers include Coy Coggins and Sanford Sisson and they are asked to meet at the Church at 1:45 P.M. Tuesday. On Tuesday the body will be carried to the Church to lie instate from 1:00 until the Funeral Hour. Darlene Wright, Dathy Darby and Diane Coggins will have charge of the music. The family will receive friends at the Thomas Funeral Home from 4:00 until 8:00 P.M. on Monday May 7th.
