ELLA HALES, AGE 91,OF CALHOUN. DIED FRIDAY AFTERNOON DECEMBER 15TH IN GORDON HOSPITAL.
ELLA WAS BORN IN GORDON COUNTY ON JANUARY 8, 1915. DAUGHTER OF THE LATE JOHN HENRY AND VISTA CARVER SILVERS. SHE WAS THE OLDEST LIVING MEMBER OF THE CRANE EATER CHURCH OF GOD. IN ADDITION TO HER HUSBAND, LOUIE E. ROE SHE WAS PRECEDED BY FOUR BROTHERS, HOMER, CICERO, ROY AND JAMES H. SILVERS, THREE SISTERS, PEARL WEAVER, TOT STANFIELD, AND DOROTHY SILVERS.
SURVIVORS INCLUDE, ONE SON, BOBBY ROE OF RESACA. TWO BROTHERS, BILL AND JACK SILVERS BOTH OF CALHOtJN. TWO SISTERS, RUBY BOWEN AND MATTIE DODD BOTH OF CALHOUN. TWO GRANDCHILDREN, TINA BROOKS AND TIM ROE. FIVE GREAT-GRANDCIDLDREN AND TWO GREAT-GREAT-GRANDCHTI..DREN ALSO SURVIVE.
FUNERAL SERVICES WILL BE CONDUCTED SUNDAY DECEMBER 17TH AT 2PM AT THE CRANE EATER CHURCH OF GOD. WITH REV. HOWARD STRICKLAND OFFICIATING. WITH BURIAL TO FOLLOW IN BLACKWOOD SPRINGS BAPTIST CEMETERY. THE STANFIELD FAMILY WILL HAVE CHARGE OF THE MUSIC.
