Elizabeth Raines Taylor, age 84 of Gordon County died at 11:00 PM, Saturday, May 31 at Gordon Hospital. Mrs. Taylor was born, January 19, 1930 in Gordon County, daughter of the late Lawrence Raines and Eliza Galloway Raines. Also, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold M. Taylor; four brothers, Russell, Bill, Pete, and Frank Raines, and one sister, Fannie Harmon. She had spent her entire lifetime in Gordon County and was a member of the Sugar Valley Church of God. She is survived by three daughters, Mildred Ellis and her husband Gene of the Fairmount, Diane Tucker of Calhoun, Debbie Lang and her husband Ricky of Calhoun; four brothers and sisters, Bud Raines and his wife Wincie of Sugar Valley, Luther Raines and his wife, Betty of Calhoun, Bertia McKeehan of Villanow, and Nora Pickens of Sugar Valley; two sisters in law, Bernice Raines of Texas City, Texas and Iva Nell Raines of Calhoun, 10 grandchildren, 4 step-granddaughters, several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, June 3 at the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with the Reverend Dwaine Shadix officiating. Burial will be in Sugar Valley Church of God Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday from 5:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Pallbearers are Timmy Parker, Tommy and Jimmy Gravitte, Tommy Hutchens, Austin Lang, and Tyler Sutton.
