Elizabeth Virginia Greeson

Elizabeth Virginia Greeson, age 91 of Calhoun, passed away on Monday, February 8, 2016 at her residence. Elizabeth was born on May 15, 1924 in Ohio to the late Hughey Webb and Gertrude Saunders Webb. She had been a member of New Zion Baptist Church since 1959. Elizabeth was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Greeson; brother, Truman Webb; and son-in-law, Bill Dean. Survivors include her two sons, Hugh Greeson and his wife Sandra of Calhoun, and W.C. Greeson of Calhoun; two daughters, Jo Ann Dean of Calhoun, and Hilda Chadwick and her husband Charles of Chickamauga; sister, Mary Worley of Calhoun; twelve grandchildren, Paul DeFoor, Doug DeFoor, LaRhonda Boston, Summer Currie, Clete Greeson, Cigi Greeson, Colton Greeson, Connie Pack, Dena Ables, Chase Dean, Mark Greeson and Adam Greeson; eighteen great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren also survive. Funeral Services will be conducted on Wednesday, February 10th at 1:00 PM at New Zion Baptist Church with Reverend Lamar Bearden and Reverend Gene Smith officiating. Donald and JoAnn Bowen will have charge of music. Interment will follow in Salem Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverend Steve Corbin officiating. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers will be past and present Deacons of New Zion Baptist Church. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 5 until 8 PM at Thomas Funeral Home.
