Tuesday, April 01, 2008 Mr. Elijah L. Edwards, age 72, of Dalton. Died Tuesday morning at Hamilton Medical Center following a sudden attack. Mr. Edwards was born in Gordon County August 23, 1935. Son of the late James Burton and Dessie Brown Edwards. He was a retired manager at World Carpet with more than 25 years of service he had also work for Norville Industries for twelve years. He was a veteran of the United States Army and a member of the Northside Church of Christ. Survivors include his wife of 48 years Martha Lynn Edwards of Dalton. Five sons; Scott Edwards and his wife Rosemary of Resaca, Darren Edwards and his wife Cathy of Calhoun, Carman Edwards of Dalton, Heath Edwards of Dalton, and Shane Edwards and his wife Melissa of Chatsworth. Three brothers; James and his wife Robbie, Albert and his wife Barbara, and Harry Edwards all of Calhoun. Two sisters; Sue Holloway and her husband Pete of Resaca and Ann Bailey of Adairsville. Five grandsons; Lee, Josh, Dakota, Christian and Keithen Edwards. Nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday April 3rd at 11am from the Northside Church of Christ. With Ministers Kent Bailey and Terry York officiating. Burial will follow in Fain Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4 until 8pm Wednesday evening . On Thursday the body will be carried to the Church to lie instate from 10:00 A.M. until the funeral hour.
