Elaine S. Washington

Saturday, January 30, 2010 Elaine S. Washington, age 64, of Calhoun. Died Friday evening January 29th, in Gordon Health Care. Elaine was born in Gordon County February 19, 1945. She had spent all of her life in Calhoun and had worked at Astro Dye prior to her retirement. Elaine was preceded in death by her mother Willie Nell Starr. She is survived by her seven children; Harry, Larry, Jimmy, Scottie, Robert, Amos, and Cynthia Washington. Two God-Children; London Cross and Sam Lacey. Two brothers; Gus and Ned Starr. Two sisters; Josephine Winters and Mary Quinn. 25 grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted Monday February 1st at 11am from the chapel of Thomas Funeral Home. With Rev. Lamar Curtis officiating. LaDell Howells will have charge of the music. Pallbearers serving include sons and grandsons and they are Robert Washington, Robert Washington, Scottie Washington, Amos Washington, Jimmy Washington, and Toppy Lighting. The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 3 until 8pm.
