Edward Wilbur Griffith

Edward W. Griffith, age 81 of Calhoun, passed away on Monday, February 18, 2019 at Gordon Hospital. Edward was born on March 13, 1937 in Calhoun County, AL to the late Newton Elbert Griffith and Cora Emma Erwin Griffith. Prior to his retirement, Edward was the senior mechanical engineer at Union Carbide/First Brands Corporation. He was a graduate of and lifelong Auburn University fan. Edward is survived by: his wife, Oleta Griffith; two sons, Tom Griffith and his wife Michelle of Calhoun, GA and Mike Stephenson of Calhoun, GA; two daughters, Wayna Guirl and her husband Jim of Simpsonville, SC, and Tonya Siniard and her husband Hugh of Cartersville, GA; one sister, Theta Perry and her husband Lamar of Opelika, AL; seven grandchildren, Adam Griffith, Michelle Hitchcock, Chris Guirl, David Guirl, Stephen Guirl, Ashton Wood, and Cameryn Wood; and three great-grandchildren, Brandon Hitchcock, Andrea Hitchcock, and Billy Guirl.
