Edward C. Darnell

Edward C. Darnell, age 85, of McDonough, GA, passed away on Saturday, August 22, 2020 at his home in McDonough, GA. Edward was born on October 20, 1934 in Gordon County, GA, son of the late Robert C. and Glennie Jenkins Darnell. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter Sheryl Darnell. He was a member of Glen Haven Baptist Church in McDonough, GA and a former member of Tabernacle Baptist Church in Cartersville, GA. He was a loving husband and father and is survived by his wife Dimple Owens Darnell, his daughter Stacy Clark and her husband Stephen, two grandchildren: Christopher O’Connor and Stephanie Bender and her husband Jarrod and two great grandchildren, Jace Bender and Jett Bender. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, August 24, 2020 in the Thomas Funeral Home Chapel at 2pm with Reverend Stan Barrong officiating. Interment will follow at Fain Cemetery. Pallbearers serving are Robert Owens, Mitchell Owens, Edward Lee Owens, Gary McEntyre, Chad Owens, and Brennan Galloway. Family will receive friends on Sunday, August 23, 2020 from 4pm-6pm and Thomas Funeral Home.
