Mrs. Edna Stanley, age 100, of Calhoun passed away Thursday evening December 13th at her residence.
Edna was born September 3, 1912 in Fannin County, daughter of the late Harley and Pearlie Holden Stanley. She was a homemaker and attended West Union Baptist Church. Edna was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Arnold Stanley, two daughters; Beatrice Stanley and Thelma Fuller, one son; Leroy Stanley.
Survivors include one son; Kenneth Stanley of Calhoun, six daughters; Pearlie Fuller, Minnie Stiles, Betty Bennett and her husband Leroy, Pat Weeks and her husband Randy, Sharon Brock and her husband Dwight all of Calhoun, and Linda Magyari and her husband Freddy of Stark, Fl.. Five generations of grandchildren totaling 140 as well as a number of nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday December 16th at 11am from the chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Hamilton and Rev. Doug Roebuck officiating. Graveside rites will be conducted at 2pm at the Stanley Cemetery in Blue Ridge.
Pallbearers serving include; Sandy Green, Brian Holt, Bill Alexander, David Thomas, Scott Chitwood, Barry Stanley, Ben Barker, Tim Jones, and Greg Jones.
The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 4 – 8pm.
