Edna C Owens

Edna C. Owens, age 89 of the Pine Chapel Community, passed away on Friday, January 30, 2015 at Hamilton Medical Center. Edna was born on March 16, 1925 in Gordon County to the late Tom Chitwood and Toy Greeson Chitwood. She was a member of the Pine Chapel Methodist Church. Edna was an amazing woman with a great personality. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Keith E. Owens; daughter, Sandra O. Bearden; and two brothers, Trammell Chitwood and Logan Chitwood. She is survived by her husband, George Owens of Calhoun; and one granddaughter, Natalie Hammond and her husband Tracy of Crawford, Colorado. Funeral Services will be conducted on Sunday, February 1st at 2:00 PM from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with the Reverend Kenneth Phillips officiating. Interment will follow in Pine Chapel Cemetery. Pallbearers serving will be Chris Taylor, Baron Baker, Tracy Hammond, Jr., Marvin Roberts and Bruce Garren. Honorary Pallbearers will be Hubert Long, Nick Sainato, Mark Mollenson and Jeff Erwin. The family will receive friends on Saturday evening from 3 – 6 PM at Thomas Funeral Home.
