Edna Earle Brown, age 89 of Plainville, passed away on Wednesday, November 30, 2016 in Gordon Hospital.
Edna was born on May 16, 1927 in Bartow County, daughter of the late Dallas George King and Nina Earle Ellis King. She was the oldest living member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Lee Brown; granddaughter, Page Blackwell; sister, Brenda Easterwood; and brother-in-law, Harold Burnette.
She is survived by her son, Sammy Brown and his wife Kathy of Plainville; brother, Jerry King and his wife Carol of Rome; three sisters, Betty Dutton and her husband Waymon of Plainville, Geraldine Fowler and her husband Doug of Adairsville and Jo Anne Burnette of Plainville; four grandchildren, Kelly Brown, Chastity Buck, Sam Brown and Rhonda Blackwell; four great-grandchildren, Kendrick Brown, Makayla Coram, Jaylon Moore and Jordan Moore; and one great-great-grandson, Brayden Grooms.
Funeral Services will be conducted on Saturday, December 3rd at 2 PM at Oak Grove Baptist Church with Reverend Jackie Clayton and Reverend Roger Fisher officiating. Bruce and Presley King will have charge of music. Burial will follow in Franklin Cemetery.
Pallbearers serving will be Gary Fowler, Steve King, Mitchell King, Bruce King, Frank Moorehead and Aaron Moorehead. Honorary Pallbearers will be Sam Brown, Waymon Dutton, Doug Fowler, Vaughn King, Fain King and Zachary Grantham.
The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 4 PM until 8 PM at Thomas Funeral Home. Edna will be taken to Oak Grove Baptist Church to lie in state on Saturday from 1 PM until the funeral hour at 2 PM.
