Edna Lucille Barton

Friday, January 26, 2007 Mrs. Lucille Barton age 94 of 154 Walker St., Resaca, Ga. died Thursday January 25th. in the Hamilton Medical Center following a brief illness. Mrs. Barton was born in Gordon County, Ga. on Sept. 27th. 1912 daughter of the late Jim and Julia Black Davis and had spent her entire life here. She was a loving Mother, Homemaker, a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church and was retired from the Textile Industry and in addition to her parents she was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters. She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law; Virginia and Hubert Long of Resaca and several nieces and nephews Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 P.M. Sunday January 28th. from the Chapel of the Thomas Funeral Home with Revs. Melvin Waters and James Cobb officiating. Interment will follow in the Fain Cemetery with Rev. David Ray in charge of the Graveside Services. Pallbearers serving include R.V. Greeson, Willard Barton, Jerry Jackson, Mark Talley, Sanford Sisson and Keith Davis. Honorary pallbearers include; Earnest Rutledge, Donald Rutledge, Bobby Poarch, Tony Patton, Reed Davis and Johnnie McBee and all of these gentlemen are asked to meet at the funeral home at 2:15 p.m. on Sunday. The Newtown Quartet will have charge of the Music. The family will receive friends at the Thomas Funeral Home from 3:00 until 9:00 P.M. on Saturday January 27th.
