Edith Payne Phillips

Edith Payne Phillips, age 90 of Calhoun, GA, passed away on Sunday, August 22, 2021 at AdventHealth Gordon.

Edith was born on August 11, 1931 in Bartow County, GA to the late Charlie Payne and Beulah Lee Payne. In addition to her parents, Edith was also preceded in death by: her husband, Doyle Osmore Phillips; three brothers, Robert Payne, D.A. Payne, and Ralph “Buck” Payne; three sisters, Lila Brackett, Ruby Darby, and Mildred Cline; and special nephew, Sonny Payne.

Edith is survived by: one daughter, Laura Lee Bailey and her husband Gary; two grandchildren, Mike Mealor and his wife April, and Alex Bailey and his wife Courtney; four great-grandchildren, Alle Allen, Gabe Mealor, Andrew Mealor, and Liam Bailey; one great-great-granddaughter, Elizabeth Allen; three sisters-in-law, Peggy Stewart, Pat Phillips, and Maggie Phillips.

Private Funeral Services will be held at Echota Baptist Church with Dr. Lucas Butler officiating. Burial will follow in East View Cemetery.

Pallbearers serving are: Mike Mealor, Alex Bailey, Gabe Mealor, Andrew Mealor, and Liam Bailey.
