Mr. Earle Atwood Brewer, age 90 of Sugar Valley, passed away on Thursday, January 23, 2025, at Cartersville Center for Nursing & Healing.
Mr. Brewer was born in Keene, New Hampshire on October 20,1934, to George Weldon Brewer and Carrie Muriel Atwood Brewer.
Mr. Brewer dedicated over 40 years of his life as a Biology & Chemistry Professor. He taught at Adventist schools in NewJersey, Maryland, Ohio, Bermuda, and in Zimbabwe at Inyazura, Gweru, Lower Gweru, Bulawayo and Solusi University as a missionary science teacher. After he retired, he served his community with the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Calhoun at the food bank God’s Pantry. Folks who visited will remember his kind words and smiles as he distributed food to those in need for more than 15 years. His commitment to his community and others reflects his lifelong mission of generously loving all people.
Earle was exceptionally fond of marine biology and often kept saltwater fish tanks of his own. He fondly remembered his time in Bermuda where he frequently would bring home saltwater fish from his snorkeling expeditions. He enjoyed sharing his experiences in God’s creation over a hearty meal with friends and family. He also loved Southern Gospel music and singing of his love for God.
In addition to his parents, Georgia and Carrie Brewer, Earle is preceded in death by his two daughters, Victoria Ann Brewer and Melanie Rose Brewer; sister, Eleanor Brewer Shupe and her husband, Ellis Shupe from Damascus, Maryland, and son-in-law Donald Blystone of Keizer, Oregon. Mr. Brewer is survived by his loving wife for over 66 years, Francis Thompson Brewer; daughters, Melinda Brewer Blystone of Ooltewah, Tennessee; Cindy Brewer Bankhead and her husband Mickey of Sugar Valley, Georgia, and son, Timothy Earle Brewer and wife Shannon of Kennesaw, Georgia; grandchildren Bruce Earle Bankhead and wife Esther; Bryan Ray Bankhead and wife Shelby and Chris Blystone and wife Jenna and great grandchildren, Peter and Philip Bankhead and Olivia Blystone; niece Mary Myers and husband Steve and nephew Alfred Shupe.
A Memorial Service will be February 1 at 4 pm at the Calhoun Seventh-day Advent Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Calhoun Seventh-day Adventist Church food bank God’s Pantry.
