Earl Dean Ruth, age 77 of Calhoun, passed away on Saturday, July 1, 2017 at his residence surrounded by his compassionate family.
Earl was born on August 19, 1939 to the late Earl Kyle Ruth and Virginia Ruth Goins. Prior to his retirement he was employed in the transportation industry. He was of the Baptist faith and attended Philadelphia Baptist Chruch. Earl loved spending time with his grandchildren. When he was able he loved riding motorcycles, square dancing, woodworking, and gardening.
Besides his parents, he was proceeded in death on June 1st by his beloved sister, Barbara Ruth Smith of Hixson, TN. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Dennis Kyle Ruth of Opelika, AL.
He is survived by his wife, Judy Carol Logan Ruth of Calhoun; two sons, Chuck Ruth and his wife Laura of Calhoun, and Keith Ruth and his wife Heather of Serenbe, GA; five grandchildren, Logan Ruth, Hannah Ruth, Madison Ayers, Dean Ruth, and Zachary Ruth; and three sisters, Pamela Ruth Ledford of Cleveland, TN, Tanya Ruth McDonnell of Winter Springs, FL, and Karen Ruth Hatcher of Marietta, GA.
The family wishes to thank their very special caregivers, Glenda Stone, Jackie McDaniel, Lynn Highfield, Stephanie Walraven, and Sharon Walraven for their loving care.
Funeral Services will be conducted on Wednesday, July 5th at 2:30 PM from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with the Reverend Tim McCulley officiating. Greg Free will have charge of music. Burial will follow in Chandler Cemetery with Rev. Greg Free in charge of graveside rites.
Pallbearers serving will be Reggie Smith, Jeff Smith, Logan Ruth, Zachary Ruth, Edward Owens and Roger Bearden.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday prior to the funeral hour from 1 PM until the funeral hour at 2:30 PM.
