Dwight T. Patterson, age 67 of Calhoun died Saturday, August 30 at Gordon Hospital.
Dwight was born December 10, 1946 in Gordon County, son of the late James Vernon Patterson and Grace Alma Talent Patterson. He was an avid Atlanta Falcons fan and in years past enjoyed serving as a referee for local High School football games. He was the owner of Rugs and More of Calhoun and a member of the Nellie Peters United Methodist Church.
Besides his parents Dwight was preceded in death by his daughter, Dana Patterson and his brother, Paul Patterson.
He is survived by his daughter, Jamie Cooper of Olympia, Washington; one sister, Vivian Woodring of Calhoun; one brother, David Patterson of Cartersville; 2 grandchildren, Cash Cooper and Ryder Cooper both of Olympia, Washington. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday September 2nd at 11am from the chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Rev. Stephen Cochran officiating. Burial will follow in the Chandler Cemetery.
Pallbearers serving include Daren Woodring, Dennis Edwards, Mike Griffin, Jason Patterson, Joey Cooper, and Jeff Rampy.
The family will receive friends Monday from 5 until 8pm.
