Durwood “Buck” Waller, age 75, of Calhoun and formerly of Dalton, passed away Monday morning February 22nd at his residence.
Buck was born September 7, 1940 in Alexander City, Alabama, son of the late Durwood B. Waller, Sr. and Bernice McClung. He was with Shaw Industries for 47 years prior to his retirement. Buck was a graduate of East Coweta High School of Senoia and loved fishing.
Survivors include his wife Pat Waller of Calhoun, one son; Gregg Waller of Milledgeville, one step-son; Darryl Freeman of Chatsworth, one sept-daughter; Donna Parks of Ellijay, one brother; Chuck Waller and his wife Barbara of Chatsworth, one sister; Betty McKinskry of Mountain Brook, Alabama. Three grandchildren; Scott, Shaun, and Michael Waller, two step-grandchildren; Haley and Jenna Parks, Nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Services to celebrate the life of Durwood “Buck” Waller will be conducted Sunday February 28th at 3pm from the chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Dr. John Barber officiating. Music will be provided by Rebecca Owen.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Calhoun First Baptist Church building fund at 411 College St, Calhoun, GA 30701.
