Dr. John William Stearns

Dr. John William Stearns, age 68 of Calhoun, passed away on Saturday, August 5^th at his residence.

Dr. Stearns was born on February 25, 1955, in Escondido, California, to the late George Erman Stearns and Marth Gibson Stearns. He was a Medical Doctor at AdventHealth Emergency Room. Dr. Stearns was a brilliant doctor that everyone loved, respected, and adored, he was the former local EMS Director, he was an Elder at Calhoun 7^th Day Adventist Church, he served on several medical and evangelistic mission trips outside of the United States.

He is survived by his loving and caring wife, Robin Rae Oblander Stearns; four daughters, Sarah Jones, Heather Epperson, Rachel Klein, and Katelyn Sharp; nine grandchildren, Ethan Epperson, Avarie Epperson, Logan Jones, Ian Jones, Cooper Jones, Pierce Jones, Levi Klein, Oliver Klein, and Rowan Sharp; siblings, Kay Dorchuch, Betty Jean Bannister, Mary Anne Dorchuch, Witon Helm, Lyle Helm, and Nancy Weeks; Mother and Father-in-Law, Jeanette and Bob Oblander also survive.

The family will receive friends on Friday, August 25, 2023 from 4 PM until 6 PM at Thomas Funeral Home.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 26, 2023 at 3 PM from the Calhoun Seventh-day Advent Church.
