Doug Ponder Nesbitt

Doug Ponder Nesbitt, age 74 of the Oostanaula Community, passed away Sunday, September 18^th at AdventHealth Gordon.

Doug was born on August 19, 1948, in Gordon County, son of the late Bill Nesbitt and Marguerite Ponder Nesbitt. He was a member of Oostanaula Baptist Church, prior to retirement he was employed by Calhoun Auto Outlet, and Springs Industries. In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by a brother, Tony Nesbitt.

He is survived his mother, Marguerite Nesbitt; children, Kevin Nesbitt, Richie Nesbitt and his wife Lynn; grandchildren, Brett Nesbitt, and Brittni Nesbitt; great-grandchild, Brantley Mullins; siblings, Terry Nesbitt and his wife Letha, Dick Nesbitt and his wife Jinger, Dennis Nesbitt and his wife Dianna, Kim Nesbitt and his wife Cynthia, Jeff Nesbitt and his wife Vanessa.

Funeral Services will be conducted on Tuesday, September 20^th at 2 PM from Oostanaula Baptist Church with Reverend Rick Langston, and Mark Butler officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Daniel Brown in charge of graveside rites. Pallbearers serving are as follows: Brett Nesbitt, Jared Nesbitt, Tyler Hobberchalk, Caleb Chambers, Gage Potter, and Nicholas Nesbitt. Honorary Pallbearers are: Rick Foster, and Terry Poe.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 20^th at Oostanaula Baptist Church from 11 AM until the funeral hour of 2 PM.
