Dorothy Jean "Dot" Williams

Dorothy Jean “Dot” Williams, age 74, of Calhoun, passed away Wednesday March 6th at her residence. Dot was born April 1, 1938 in Gilmer County, daughter of the late Mance J. Leatherwood and Josie Lee Suits Leatherwood, she attended the Plainview Baptist Church and besides her parents was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters; Clyde Leatherwood, Roy “Buddy” Leatherwood, Harold Leatherwood, Walter “ Coot” Leatherwood, Reathel Stanley and Ruth Tipton. Survivors include her husband, Fred C. Williams of Calhoun, two sons; Donald Fred Williams and his wife Lisa and James Robert Williams and his wife Janet all of Calhoun, two daughters; Linda Jean Cantrell and her husband Kirk of Calhoun and Deborah Kay Key and her husband Rodney of Cherry Log, brothers; Bobby Leatherwood and his wife Gail of McDonough, Jack Leatherwood of North Carolina, Johnny Leatherwood and his wife Carolyn of Barnesville, and Leon Leatherwood of his wife Shelia, her grandkids; Amanda Williams, Jeremy and Brittany Williams, Kristy and Nathan Jones, Cory and Jessica Williams, Nakisha Cantrell and Randy Ramey, Daniel Cantrell, Randy Williams, Sarah Key and Zach Talley, and Michael Key. Funeral services will be conducted Friday March 8th at 2pm from the Plainview Baptist Church with Rev. Mark Harris officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with grandsons; Jeremy Williams, Randy Williams, Daniel Cantrell, Cory Williams, Michael Key and Ronnie Leatherwood serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers include; Nathan Jones, Zach Talley, and Randy Ramey. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 5 until 9pm.
