Thursday, August 26, 2010 Mrs. Dorothy Louise Crowder, age 78 of Calhoun, died Wednesday August 25 in Gordon Health Care following and extended illness. Dorothy was born in Cobb County on November 17, 1931. Daughter of the late Roy Mathis and Lilly Clonts Mathis. She was of the baptist faith and has been a residence of Gordon County for the last 9 years. Prior to her retirement Mrs. Crowder worked for Conagra for 23 years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Nollen Crowder in 1996, one son; Jerry Crowder, two brothers; Frank Mathis and Bobby Mathis, and one sister; Shirly Dockery. Survivors include; one daughter Martha Whitehead and her husband Robert of Calhoun, one son Ricky Crowder and his wife Cherrie of Bryant, AL, one brother Ralph Mathis and his wife Nell of Cartersville, seven grandchildren; Michael Travis, Ron Marcus, Brandon Cloer, Dillon Crowder, River Crowder, Kayla Stephens, and Amanda Webb, seven great-grandchildren; Nollen Cloer, Madison Cloer, Cassie Marcus, Braxton Marcus, Kelsy Teasley, James Hollingsworth, and Mikey Travis. Funeral Services will be conducted Friday August 27 at 11:00 AM from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Rev. Rick Adcock officiating. Internment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens in Cartesville. Pallbearers serving will be Brandon Cloer, Rob Brown, Shawn Brown, Robert Dockery, James Hollingsworth, and Rick Crowder. The family will receive friends Thursday afternoon from 6 until 9 PM.
