Doris F. Linebarger

Saturday, October 10, 2009 Mrs. Doris F. Linebarger, age 78 of Calhoun died Saturday, October 10. She was born, July 5, 1931 in Robeson County, North Carolina a daughter of the late Robert Furmage, Sr. and Blanche McCracken Furmage. Her husband, Leon F. Linebarger on October 1, 1989, preceded her in death. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her brother Bobby Furmage and his wife Ann, sister Nellie McMillan and her husband J.D., sister in law, Veva Knox, two brothers in law, Sam Knox and Golmor Everett, as well as a mother in law, Ida Linebarger. She had lived in Calhoun for 20 years and was a member of the Echota Baptist Church. Doris is survived by four sons and their wives, Jerry and Peggy Linebarger of Calhoun, Jimmy and Linda Linebarger of Chattanooga, Asa and Elaine Linebarger of Calhoun, Lee and Julie Linebarger of Raeford, North Carolina; nieces, nephews, and grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Monday, October 12, 2009 at the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with the Reverend Don Walters officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 5:00 PM Sunday at the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home. Buirial will be at 1:30 PM Tuesday at the Chattanooga National Cemetery. Thomas Funeral Home has charge of arrangements for the services of Mrs. Doris F. Linebarger.
