Doris Maxine Burns

Doris Burns, 87 years old, from Calhoun, Georgia, passed away on October 19, 2023, following declining health. She was born to the late Auburn "Cap" and Bonnie Clark on September 14, 1936, in Gordon County.

She worked in many restaurants around Calhoun and ran a twister at Astro Dye. Doris was the rock, heart, and soul of her family and loved them all unconditionally. She enjoyed reading her Bible, reading devotionals, completing puzzle books, and seeing her family. She was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church, watching the services when she was unable to go.

She was preceded in death by her father and mother, a daughter Sylvia Clark, grandson, Aubry Williams, a son-in-law, Donny Watson, and her great-granddaughter Myah Norton.

She is survived by: her daughter Patricia Watson; grandchildren Jessica Cundiff and husband, Jamie, Clark "Jody" Watson, Donnie Norton and h, Devin, Abranda Williams, and Christina Williams; and great-grandchildren Jordan Burns, Orion Stang, Riley Watson, Carl Hicks, Jadah Norton, Carrie Bryan and husband, Ben, and Wesley and Madeline Williams, Nathanyl Crider, and Cody Norton.

The Pallbearers for the funeral service include: Clark "Jody" Watson, Jordan Burns, Wesley Williams, Jamie Cundiff, John Carnley, and Ben Bryan. Honorary Pallbearers for the service include Alan Lackey, Scott Williams, Bradley Williams, and Caymon Phipps.

The family will receive friends at Thomas Funeral Home Friday, October 20, 2023 from 6 - 8pm. The funeral for Doris Burns will be Saturday, October 21, 2023 at Thomas Funeral Home from 1:00.
