Donna Wineland Hooper, age 100, of Calhoun, passed away Thursday April 4th at her residence.
Donna was born July 28, 1918 in Hinesdale, Illinois. Daughter of the late Charles Wineland and Bertha Coppock Wineland. She was a member of the Calhoun Seventh-Day Adventist Church where she was a sabbath day teacher. Prior to her retirement she was employed by Gordon Hospital as a registered nurse. She loved her church, her family and the Pathfinders.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, George Alvin Hooper, son, Charles Hooper, daughters, Ruthie Hooper and Charlotte Queen and a granddaughter, Stephanie Bible.
Survivors include her two daughters, Sandra Hensley and Kathy Fisher, one brother, Wilber Wineland, one sister, Charlotte Able. More than 40 grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday April 8th at 2pm from the chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Piotrowski officiating Burial will follow in Gordon Memorial Gardens. The family will receive from 12 noon until the funeral hour. Pallbearers are Dustin, Brent, and Zachary Ivey, Tony Burk, and Tim Hight.
