Donald Eugene Mealor

Donald Eugene Mealor, age 76 of Sugar Valley, passed away on Sunday, May 3, 2015 at his residence. Donald was born on July 26, 1938 in Gordon County to the late Ernest Mealor and Dymple Black Mealor. He was a member of Belmont Baptist Church and was a retired truck driver. Donald was an avid hunter, University of Georgia football fan and Atlanta Braves fan when winning. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a cousin, Creswell Black. He is survived by his wife, Pat Owens Mealor of Sugar Valley; four sons, Donnie Mealor of Calhoun, Ernie Mealor of Calhoun, Larry Causby and his wife Diedre of Cartersville and Randy Sutherland of Calhoun; daughter, Kelly Causby Price of Calhoun; and four grandchildren, Owen and Emily Towe, DJ Mealor, Ethan Brown and Rickisha Hall. Funeral Services will be conducted on Thursday, May 7th at 1:00 PM from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with the Reverend James Shope officiating. Interment will follow in Fain Cemetery. Pallbearers serving include John Davis, Kyle Brown, Kevin Holsomback, Edward Jones, Scott Fox, Randy Sutherland, Ed Owens, Michael McEntyre and Randy Edge.
