Donald C Holsomback

Donald C. Holsomback, age 96 of the Sugar Valley community, passed away on Friday, December 1, 2017 at Gordon Health Care. Donald was born on May 28, 1921 to the late Rob Holsomback and Hattie Mae Holcomb. Donald was a veteran of the United States Army serving in World War II. After the Army he was a farmer and retired from the textile industry. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Jacqueline Holsomback of 68 years He is survived by his three sons, Don Holsomback of Sugar Valley, Bobby Holsomback and his wife Brenda of Sugar Valley, Clay Holsomback and his wife Sue of Dalton; daughter, Susan Joyce and her husband Kelly of Villa Rica; brother, Sammy Joe and his wife Nancy of Rome; sister, Robbie Fields of Calhoun; seven grandchildren, Allen Holsomback and his wife Nicole, Zane Holsomback and his wife Jaime, Chase Holsomback and his wife Sarah, Trey Greeson and his wife Courtney, Emily Bradshaw and her husband Derek, Julie McFarland and her husband Nathan, Kelly Joyce, Jr.; eleven great-grandchildren, Lane Holsomback, Hayden Holsomback, Rylee Greeson, Kambrie Greeson, Brayden Greeson, Branson Joyce, Eva Kate Holsomback, Joy Holsomback, Clara Holsomback, Vivian Rose Bradshaw and Ayla Kate McFarland. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, December 4, 2017 at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Reverend Dwaine Shadix, Reverend A.J. Waters and Reverend Chase Holsomback officiating. Burial will follow at Sugar Valley Baptist Church Cemetery. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 3, 2017 from 2:00 PM until 5:00 PM and Monday, December 4, 2017 from 12:00 PM until the funeral hour of 2:00 PM at Thomas Funeral Home.
