Donald B. Holland

Tuesday, November 06, 2007 Mr. Donald B. Holland age 78 of 1246 Roland Hayes Pkwy., Calhoun, died Monday November 5th. in Regal At Morning Point Assisted Living following several months of declining health. Donald was born in Gordon County on May 7, 1929 son of the late Barney Melrose and Essie Gertrude Bowen Holland and had been a lifelong resident. He was a member of the Oostanaula Baptist Church , was a truck driver for Reeves Transportation and served in the U.S. Army. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Doris June Goode Holland on May 15 of this year. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law; Zane and Laura Holland , Tim and Wanda Holland all of Calhoun, two grandchildren; Heather and Kevin Holland also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Thursday November 8th from the Chapel of the Thomas Funeral Home with Rev. Rick Langston officiating. Interment will follow in the Blackwood Springs Cemetery. Pallbearers serving include Keith and Richie Goode, Ron Ignatovich, Jerry and Doug Holland and Dana Pinson and they asked to meet at the funeral home at 12:45 P.M. Thursday. The family will receive friends at the Thomas Funeral Home from 6:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. on Wednesday evening.
