Thomas Funeral Home 535 Red Bud Road Calhoun, Georgia 30701 706-629-2832 Mr. Donald E. “Butch” Dixon, age 63, of the Rydal community. Died Thursday evening August 6th in the Emory University Hospital. Donald was born in Gordon County June 22,1946. Son of the late Donald Hue and Lillie Bell Garrett Dixon. He was a computer engineer with One Source Computer and a veteran of the United States Air Force. Donald had spent most of his early years in Calhoun but had lived in Bartow County for the past 10 years and was a member of the Forest Hills United Methodist Church in Brentwood, TN. He is survived by his wife; Eva Garland Dixon of Rydal. Daughters; Angie Turney of Tampa, Florida, and Lisa Jackson and her husband Roger. Stepchildren; James Wilson and Rachel Wilson Rogers both of Calhoun. Nine grandchildren also survive. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 3pm from the chapel of Thomas Funeral Home. With Rev. Joe Garrett officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday evening from 5 until 8pm.
