Don Godfrey

Don Godfrey, age 80, of Calhoun, passed away Wednesday October 5^th at the Redmond Regional Hospital.

Don was Born November 20, 1941, in Gordon County, son of the late William Godfrey and Ruby Causby Godfrey. Don was a well-known painter in Gordon County prior to his retirement. He was a member of the Resaca Assembly of God. Don was a devoted husband and Dad who especially love his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents Don was preceded in death by one brother, Ray Godfrey and two sisters, Kathryn Godfrey Black and Doris Godfrey Crowe.   

He is survived by his wife, Jean Timms Godfrey; one daughter, Pamela Godfrey Hales and her husband Mike; two grandchildren, Candace Ogle Rumfelt and Andrea Ogle Wilson and her husband Jonathan; five great-grandchildren, Jackson, Oliver, and August Wilson, Ronan, and Rhett Rumfelt.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday October 9^th at 2pm from the chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Rev. Terry Timms officiating. Burial will follow in Chandler Cemetery.  

Pallbearers serving are Henry Timms, Eddie Timms, Greg Ogle, Vic Bohannon, Terry Crowe, and Randy Silvers.

The family will receive friends Saturday evening October 8th from 5 until 8pm at the funeral home.
