Dixie Norris Burton

   Dixie Norris Burton, age 97 of Calhoun, GA, passed away on Friday, July 19, 2024 at her residence.

   Dixie was born on May 14, 1927 in Calhoun, GA, daughter of the late Walter Norris and Alice Stanley Norris. In addition to her parents, Dixie was also preceded in death by: her husband, Wallace L. Burton; son, Rick Burton; brother, Herman Norris; and sister, Pearl King. Dixie was a graduate of Calhoun High School, and worked as a customer service representative for Mannington Mills. Dixie was a charter member of the Pilot Club, and was also an active member of the Jaycettes and Elkettes. She was a member of Belmont Baptist Church.

   Dixie is survived by: two sons, Mickey Burton and his wife Jane, and David Burton and his wife Cindy; daughter-in-law, Buffy Burton; five grandchildren, Leslie McIntosh and her husband Drew, Christopher Burton and his wife Emily, Zack Burton and his wife Angela, Thad Burton and his wife Rachel, and Anna Burton; five great-grandchildren, Warren, Abi, Andy, Ivy, and Layla; and sister, Molly Harmon.

   The family will receive friends on Monday, July 22, 2024 from 12 PM until 2 PM at Thomas Funeral Home.

   Funeral Services will be conducted on Monday, July 22, 2024 at 2 PM from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Dr. Bert Vaughn officiating. Burial will follow in Fain Cemetery with grandsons serving as pallbearers.

   In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Dixie may be made to the Gem Theatre at 114 North Wall Street, Calhoun, GA 30701.
