Dimple Casey Burger, age 94 of Calhoun, passed away on Sunday, January 27, 2013 in Gordon Health Care.
Dimple was born on September 15, 1918 in Murray County, GA. She was the daughter of the late Martin Oliver Casey and Julie Howell Casey. Dimple was a member of the South Calhoun Baptist Church and she and her husband owned the Burger’s Fruit Stand many years ago. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: her husband, Herman E. Burger; two brothers: Dewey and Arnold Casey; two sisters: Letha Scott and Bertha Rogers; two sons: James Burger and Gayle Burger; and one grandson, Gavin Burger.
Survivors include: one son, Clarence Burger and his wife Pat of Calhoun; one daughter, Helen Phillips of Calhoun; one sister, Annie Mae Kirk of Dalton; eleven grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren and nine great-great grandchildren also survive.
Funeral Services will be conducted on Wednesday, January 30th at 11:00am from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with the Reverend Lamar Hand and Joe Farriba officiating. Kenny Herron will have charge of music. Burial will follow in Fain Cemetery.
Pallbearers serving include: Tommy Phillips, Leon Burger, Rodney Bailey, David Burger, Keith Burger and Drew Darnell.
Honorary Pallbearers include: Ralph Hegwood, Rev. Winfred Casey, Thomas Davenport, David Long, M.D. Casey, Grady Burger and Bobby Dodd.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 29th from 4 – 8pm at the funeral home.
