Dianne Butler Gilbert

Dianne Butler Gilbert, 66 of Calhoun passed away Saturday, October 25, 2014 at her residence following an extended illness. Dianne was a 1966 graduate of Calhoun High School where she was recognized as a great basketball player. She was a member of Calhoun First Baptist Church where she was a member of the Mattie Lou Strain Sunday School Class. She was in the banking industry specializing in mortgage lending prior to retirement. Dianne was preceded in death by her father Richard T. Butler. She is survived by her mother Faye Jones Butler; her kind and loving husband of 46 years, Richard (Dick) Gilbert; three daughters, Hayley Arnold, Christi Bennett and her husband Shannon, and Becky Johns and her husband Ian all of Calhoun; four granddaughters, Ella and Lilli Bennett, Anna George, and Blair Johns; three step-grandchildren, Jana, Jaide, and Jace Johns; one sister, Charme Harmon and her husband Larry of Jasper, GA; one sister-in-law, Pat Ford and her husband Tommy of Dalton, GA; one brother-in-law, Bill Gilbert and his wife Yvonne of Sugar Valley, GA; two aunts, Frances Jones of Fairmount, GA and Virginia Harris of Cartersville, GA; one special and dear friend, Brenda Hughes of Calhoun. Several special nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive. Funeral Services will be conducted Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at 11 am from the Calhoun First Baptist Church with Rev. John Barber officiating. Rebecca Owens and Donny Nesbitt will have charge of music. Burial will follow in Fain Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday, October 26, 2014 from 5 to 8 pm. Pallbearers serving include: Jacob Harmon, Zane Jones, William Butler, Zach Sosebee, Reed Davis, and Danny Greeson.
