DiAnn Magill Acree, age 79 of Calhoun, passed away on Sunday, December 30, 2018 at Calhoun Health Care.
DiAnn was born on October 29, 1939 in Rome, GA to the late Robert “Mac” Magill and Judy Drummond Magill. In addition to her parents, DiAnn is also preceded in death by a grandson, Zach Nation. DiAnn was a member of Calhoun First Baptist Church, where she attended the Faith Seekers Sunday School Class. She was also a member of the Sequoyah Chapter 286 of the Order of the Eastern Star. DiAnn was the Director of Gordon County Training Center for over 30 years, and was a lifetime resident of Gordon County.
DiAnn is survived by: her husband of 58 years, Marvin Acree of Calhoun; three daughters, Penny Nation of Rome, Patty Acree of Calhoun, and Sheri Acree Hudgins and her husband Dell of Calhoun; three grandchildren, Adam Nation, Grace Hudgins, Hope Hudgins; cousins, Jan Severs and her husband Chuck, and Kent Drummond and his wife Kathy; and special friends, Nikki Faulkner and her husband Chuck, and Carol Poe.
Funeral Services will be conducted on Thursday, January 3rd at 2 PM from Calhoun First Baptist Church with Dr. Bert Vaughn and Dr. John Barber officiating. Chet and Reva Utz, and Lance Cole will have charge of music. Interment will follow in Chandler Cemetery.
Pallbearers serving include: Milton Bryson, Terry Hensley, Gerry Weaver, Jason Hawkins, Jeff Ruddell, and Richard Acree.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 5 PM until 8 PM at Thomas Funeral Home.
