Diane Schmidt

Diane Frances Schmidt, age 79 of Calhoun, passed away on Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at her residence. Diane was born on February 5, 1935 to the late Emil Nischik and Irene Welch Nischik. She was a member of the New Echota United Methodist Church and has been a resident of Gordon County for eight years. She was formerly employed by Chippewa Valley Museum, where she was a curator for twenty five years. She loved her family and children. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary DeFelice. She is survived by her husband, Paul Schmidt of Calhoun; one son, “Mike” Arthur Michael McMillion and his wife Barb of Milton, FL; one daughter, Elizabeth Ann Johnson and her husband John of Fall Creek, WI; eight step-children, Marge Poteet of Calhoun, Paulette and Henry Chaparro, Roy and Mary Carter, Dan Schmidt, Arlo and Robert Casper, Joseph Schmidt, Laura and “Joe” Joseph Primm, and Ann and Norm Shifferd; a numerous number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren also survive. Funeral Services will be conducted on Sunday, February 9th at 3:00pm from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with the Reverend Keith Willard officiating. The family will receive friends on Sunday at 2:00pm until the funeral hour.
