Mrs. Margaret Deskie (Amos) Hale age 89 of the Oak Grove Community Gordon County, Georgia passed away Sunday February 14, 2010 at her home following several months of declining health. She was born in Sumter County, Georgia daughter of the late Charlie Clifford Amos and Deskie Jane (Arnold) Amos. She grew up in Bartow County, Georgia and for the past forty years she has lived in the Oak Grove Community. She was a member of the Oak Grove Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband William Elzo Hale, two sbns Ronald and Donald Hale, daughter Katherine Hale, granddaughter Kathy Hale, grandson Jeffery McDonald, great grandson Isaiah Nance, and great great grandson Dalton Blake Smith. Survivors include five sons and daughter-in-Iaws Chester & Betty Hale of Plainville Georgia; Johnny & Dot Hale, and Wayne & Martha Hale of Cartersville Georgia; Alvin & Sandra Hale of Calhoun, Georgia and Amos Hale of Adairsville, Georgia; six daughters and son-in-Iaws Diane Hale, Patricia & Verlon Corbin of Cartersville, Georgia; Jeanette & James McDonald of Harrison, Tennessee; Sue & Clifford Ball of Acworth, Georgia; Jean & Steve Patterson of Rome, Georgia; Ruby & Dennis Watson of Charleston, Tennessee; Gail & Eddie Turner of Calhoun, Georgia; Faye Hale of Adairsville, Georgia; special sister Helen Mitchell; three brothers Jerry and Marshal Amos of Kingston, Georgia; Charles Amos of Temple, Texas; twenty two grandchildren; thirty six great grand children; nine great great grand children; nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Wednesday 11 AM February 17, 2010 at Oak Grove Baptist Church with the Reverend Jackie Clayton and Reverend Richard Webster officiating. She will lay in state from 10 to 11 AM. Interment will be in the Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Bartow County, Georgia. Pallbearers are her grandsons John Hale, Chris Howard, Nathan Patterson, David Corbin, Travis Maddox, and Russell Hale. Honorary pallbearers include Gary Amos, Brenton Thomas, Hugh Lee Rogers, Jonathan Rogers, Wyman Autry, and C. B. Dean The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 PM Tuesday February 16th at Thomas Funeral Home, Calhoun, Georgia.
