Mrs. Derryl Elizabeth Reese passed away Friday, May 24, 2013 at Gordon Health Care. She was born August 29, 1913. Aunt Elizabeth lived in Thomson, GA, before coming to Calhoun in Dec of 2009. She never had children but babysat for several of her nieces and nephews. She was a very colorful lady who had a keen sense of humor! Friends remember her as the lady who walked everywhere in Thomson. She would put on her yellow hard hat and walk to the grocery store. As is true of many people who grew up during the Depression, she would count out every penny when she made her purchases. She lived a frugal life. She enjoyed gardening and was an environmentalist before it was in style. Aunt Elizabeth had a gentle spirit and loved her sisters and brother, who all preceded her in death. Her sister Amelia Kilpatrick passed away in October 2012. Aunt Elizabeth was interred in Crestlawn Cemetery in Atlanta, GA beside her husband Cecil Reese, to whom she was married for many years.
