Mr. Dennis Michael Nance Sr., 72, of Dalton, departed this life Wednesday evening, July 10, 2019, at Assure Hospice Inpatient Care Facility.
Dennis was born October 13, 1946, in Whitfield County, a son of the late J.D. and Floy Dooly Nance. His grandson, Isaiah Michael Nance; sisters, Virginia Sloan and Joan Patterson; and his brothers, John R. Nance, Bud Nance and Stroud Nance, also preceded him in death.
Dennis was a graduate of Valley Point High School Class of 1964. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving during Vietnam War and was retired from Peach State Labs. Dennis lived a quiet life that included spending time with his grandsons and riding on his tractor. He was a very hard worker.
He is survived by his wife, Nina Marie Fletcher Nance; daughter, Shannon Nance; son, Adam Nance all of Dalton; son and daughter-in-law, Mike Nance and his wife Kerry of Resaca.; grandsons, Zeke and Isaac Nance of Resaca; sisters, Martha Lynn Edwards, Pat Franklin and Darlene Longley; all of Dalton; several nieces and nephews.
Services to celebrate the life of Mr. Dennis Nance will be conducted on Sunday, July 14 at 2 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home Chapel with Joel Dupree officiating. Interment will be Tuesday, July 16 at 11:30 AM in the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA with military rites afforded by the United States Army and Rev. David Lewis officiating. Pallbearers serving are Zeke Nance, Isaac Nance, Lee Edwards, Heath Edwards, Shane Edwards, and Darren Edwards.
